I was driving down the street the other night and it was snowing. So I had the wipers on, but there was ice on them, so every time it swished it smeared water on the glass. I stopped, got out of the car and snapped them against the windsheild 3 or 4 times. When i got back in the car, Zoe promptly said "No one is home." Confused I asked her what she was talking about. she explained to me that "you knocked on the window so I was saying no one is home." She is so cute. I love her sense of humor. (T)
I was sitting on the couch the other day watching t.v. while the kids played. They were being very well behaved and playing by themselves. Suddenly Zoe looks over at Dante and says "Did you just take that from me?" and proceeds to lean over and pretends to snatch something out of his hand. Then she set it on the floor by her. Dante looked at her for a second, screamed, and walked over to where she had set "it" down. He grabed the imaginary item and took it back over to where he had been playing. Imagine that! Why do we buy so many useless toys for them to fight over when they can continue to fight over imaginary junk. (T)
Near unto the garbage can, we have a cart with the microwave on it. We occasionally put larger garbage items on it when they don't fit in the garbage can. One afternoon, Tony had finished a drink and was headed into the kitchen to throw the plastic bottle away. Zoe saw that he had an empty bottle and wanted to use it for play. Daddy told her it needed to go into the garbage can. so in order to foil his efforts to throw it away, she put her hand on the garbage to hold the lid down so he couldn't open it and put the bottle in. He then placed in on top of a milk jug next to the can. Zoe just looked at him, sighed, and walked away, outsmarted and defeated! (J)
This year we can finally embrace the Christmas season! YAY! We finally have room for a tree. i had been saying for a week that the family needed to take time and decorate it together. I carefully put the skirt underneath it and arranged the tinsel to get it started. (Tony finally said that I had kept confusing him....everytime he came into the room, the tree had changed looks...one time the skirt was there, then partly covered in tinsel, then the tinsel was finished, but it had been changed! Boy was he surprised....he was asking "When did you do all this?") Later that evening we all got together to hang the decorations. They are all silver to coinside with the purple tree skirt. Next year we hope to have a bit bigger tree (it's shorter than 4ft.)
Dante is getting so big! Where does time go? He's only 21 months, but all ready asking "Go pee in sister's potty?" I know that boys take longer to potty train, but I don't think it will be all that hard. I dont think he's completely ready yet, but it's nice that he's starting to realize that he should be doing things differently. He has actually made urine come out a few times, but I don't think it is computing in his head how it all works yet. Wish us good luck! (J)
